June 25 is the scheduled sentencing hearing for Derek Chauvin, the police officer who was convicted in a Minnesota court of the murder of George Floyd. The prosecution is seeking a 30 year sentence, and the defense is seeking probation. In this video, a real lawyer explains why the overwhelming likelihood is that Chauvin will be sentenced to serve between 15 and 20 years in prison. This is the first of Habeas Humor's "Chauvin Chunks" miniseries.
Please note: federal charges are also pending against Derek Chauvin for both the George Floyd killing and a prior incident of alleged police brutality. If convicted in federal court, Chauvin could face life in prison or even the death penalty.
